Welcome to the Pine Street Elementary Media Center!

The mission of  the Pine Street Elementary Media Center is to promote  strong academic growth and success, to encourage innovation and creativity, to share and publish student products of learning, to celebrate student achievement, and to establish a life-long love of reading and learning.

Media Center Hours

Pine Street's Media Center is physically open for students during school hours.  Students may visit the media center to borrow books and library materials, conduct research, and work on projects.  The media center team will provide classrooms with passes for student to use when visiting.

Coming Soon to Families - Media Center After-Hours!

Please revisit this site to see a calendar of media after-hours events.  We are striving to be open for family visits on selected evenings throughout the school year.  A schedule and reservation form will be posted to this site.  Please also remember distancing and masking requirements for our school system when visiting.  

Borrowing Materials

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Students may check out one book for a period of up to two weeks.

First through fifth-grade students
 may check out two books for up to two weeks.

With special permission (for projects, for example),  students may check out three to four books for up to two weeks.

All books may be renewed if they are needed for a longer period of time, or needed over a break. If a book is lost or damaged, the replacement cost will be charged.

We are constantly upgrading our collection!  Please visit us to view new and exciting titles in children's literature.  Book suggestions are welcome. If you would like to recommend a book, please use this form: Children's Book Request Form

Destiny Library Catalog: search the catalog to find and reserve library books and eBooks (available to students through Classlink and here).
E-Read Kids: Search the E-Read Kids catalog for online books (available to students through Classlink and here)
Galileo Virtual Library: Use Galileo for research (available through Classlink and here - login is automatic through Classlink - ask your media specialist for the password if needed).


Exciting Media Center Spaces!

We have a wonderful areas in the media center to encourage reading, project creation, collaboration and learning!  These include a broadcast room, maker space, reading nooks, and classroom learning areas.  Please visit the media center to see for yourself.

 

Reading Rewards and Incentives

We are developing many ways to celebrate student reading growth and achievement!  Please watch for details about new incentives for the 2021-22 school year. We will include:
